Trent Richardson got the nod for the Alabama-based team and helped power the Iron to a dominant 26-0 win. Richardson also made history for Birmingham by scoring the franchise’s first ever touchdown. It wasn’t the most flashy score in the history of football, but it was effective. Richardson simply took a handoff at the four-yard line and scampered into the end zone to make some history for the iron and give the team a 15-0 lead.

Richardson is no stranger to scoring touchdowns in the state of Alabama. In three season with the Crimson Tide, from 2009 to 2011, Richardson ran for 3,130 yards and 35 touchdowns. His efforts earned him the 2011 Doak Walker Award. After his career at Alabama, Richardson was drafted third overall by the Cleveland Browns in the 2012 NFL Draft. Richardson spent just a handful of years in the NFL before going to play for the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the CFL for a season.
