Diana Ross Gets the Crowd Moving During Spirited 75th Birthday Grammys Tribute: ‘Don’t Be Lazy!’

Diana Ross brought back all the hits for her 75th birthday Grammy’s performance!

Ross was introduced by her 9-year-old grandson, Raif-Henok Emmanuel Kendrick.

“She is amazing,” he said. “Young people like me can look up to her for her independence, confidence, and willingness to be her unique self. she has shown the world that nothing is beyond our reach. So, ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my grand-mommy Diana Ross.”

The music legend opened her performance with her hit “The Best Years of My Life.”

“Thank you for being here to celebrate my 75th birthday,” she said to large applause.

She then walked through the crowd singing “Reach Out and Touch (Somebody’s Hand).”

After telling the crowd “don’t be lazy” as she prompted everyone to stand, she ended the performance by exclaiming, “Happy birthday to me!”

The Academy previously honored “Diamond Diana” with a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012.

The 61st Annual Grammy Awards are broadcasting live from Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday, Feb. 10 at 8:00 p.m. ET/5:00 p.m. PT on CBS.
