Veteran TV actor Ramesh Bhatkar dies of cancer

veteran actor Ramesh Bhatkar passed away on Monday. He was 70. The actor was battling lung cancer for a long time. Bhatkar is known for his role in Zee TV’s investigative series Commander.

Ramesh Bhatkar was associated with Hindi and Marathi entertainment industry and was also a noted theatre artist. Apart from Commander, he was also a part of DD Metro’s Hello Inspector, Marathi TV show Damini and many more TV series.
According to reports, Bhatkar was battling cancer for more than one and a half year and was being treated in a hospital in Mumbai when he passed away. “He fought bravely as much as he could. But in the last one month, he was in tremendous pain and we all were worried. He was in ICU for the last fifteen days,” actor Jaywant Wadkar told PTI.
Bhatkar’s last rites will be held at 10.30 pm at Shivaji Park.
Ramesh Bhatkar is survived by his wife Mridula and son Harshavardhan.
