Serena Williams beats Halep in three sets at the Australian Open

Serena Williams of America has made it to the quarter-final of the prestigious Australian Open Tennis Championship (Australian Open). Serena beat top-seeded Simona Halep of Romania in the fourth round of the tournament in a three-set encounter on Monday. Serena, who won 23 Grand Slam titles so far in her career, defeated Halep 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 in the first place in the world rankings. Along with this victory, Serena has stepped in to strengthen the Margaret Court’s record of 24 Grand Slam titles. Serena will face the eighth-seeded Carolina Pliskova in the Czech Republic in the quarter-finals.

Ukraine’s Elena Switolina entered the final-8 match against Madison Keys in the tough match lasting three sets on Monday. Switolina 6-2, 1-6 to Keys in the fourth round match played at Margaret Court Arena, Defeated 6-1. The Ukrainian player made a strong start in this match lasting an hour and 36 minutes and made the lead of four straight games in the first set. Keez made a mark while trying to return, but lost the first set.
