CARRIE UNDERWOOD’S NEW SONG: ‘THE CHAMPION’ FEATURES LUDACRIS

THE CHAMPION

“I am invincible, unbreakable/Unstoppable, unshakeable/They knock me down, I get up again/I am the champion,” sings Carrie Underwood in “The Champion,” her new theme song for Super Bowl LII,

Song “The Champion” becomes more famous when guest star Ludacris raps an acrostic of the song’s titular word: The C is for the courage I possess through the trauma/H is for the hurt, but/it’s all for the honor/A is for my attitude working through the patience/Money comes and goes, so the M is for motivation/Gotta stay consistent, the P is for persevere/The I is for integrity, innovative career/The O is optimistic, open and never shut/And the N is necessary ’cause I’m never givin’ up.”

The Champion - Carrie Underwood
“The Champion” follows Underwood’s last Billboard chart appearance: 2016’s “The Fighter”. The song will be used in broadcast coverage of the 2018 Winter Olympics and following the Super Bowl, “The Champion” will also be used by NBC during broadcasts of Winter Olympics in South Korea, to keep viewers motivated, juiced and psyched.

The track includes electronic beats, a piano melody, and speaker-banging bass, while the empowering lyrics celebrate being “born to win.”

There are also references to sporting legends like Muhammad Ali and fictional boxing champion Rocky Balboa. This music video is expected to air during the opening of the annual NFL championship game on February 4. Carrie Underwood has received so many successful awards in her life. Underwood’s career path clearly tells that how well-talented singer she is? She has won American Idol in 2004, snagging seven Grammys and 12 American Country Music Awards and this made her topping country albums.

Carrie Underwood has traded in her guitar and harmonica and with this song of “The Champion,” she is trying to enter in the field of a pop region in which global megastar Taylor Swift is already made a position in it. Carry Underwood is following the footstep of Taylor Swift. Also, it is raising a question that is singer Carry Underwood trying to challenge a global megastar Taylor Swift?

Most surprising for Underwood fans, though, is that “The Champion” is completely stripped of 34-year-old’s signature country sound. The song “The Champion” is completely trolled and flooded with social media like twitter and facebook when famous rapper Ludacris raps in this song. He uses some motivational lines in it which makes the song much more motivated and enthusiastic.

The song and the accompanying video was released Friday. “The Champion,” also written by country songwriters Brett James and Chris DeStefano, which will be incorporated into NBC Sports coverage of the 2018 Winter Games.

Underwood has been performing the opening song for Sunday Night Football on NBC for the last five seasons and she said in the statement that “our main focus was to celebrate athletes at the top of their game, but we also wanted the song to resonate with people in their everyday lives.”

The Champion Lyrics

[Verse 1: Carrie Underwood]
I’ll be the last one standing
Two hands in the air, I’m a champion
You’ll be looking up at me when it’s over
I live for the battle, I’m a soldier, yeah
I’m a fighter like Rocky
Put your flag on your back like Ali
Yeah, I’m the greatest I’m stronger
Paid my dues, can’t lose, I’m own ya, ay

[Pre-Chorus: Carrie Underwood]
I’ve been working my whole life
And now it’s do or die

[Chorus: Carrie Underwood]
I am invincible, unbreakable
Unstoppable, unshakeable
They knock me down, I get up again
I am the champion, you’re gon’ know my name
You can’t hurt me now, I can’t feel the pain
I was made for this, yeah, I was born to win
I am the champion

[Verse 2: Carrie Underwood]
When they write my story
They gonna say that I did it for the glory
But don’t think that I did it for the fame, yeah
I did it for the love of the game, yeah
And this is my chance I’m taking
All them old records, I’m breaking
All you people watching on the TV
You go ahead and put your bets on me, ay
[Pre-Chorus: Carrie Underwood]
I’ve been waiting my whole life
To see my name in lights

[Chorus: Carrie Underwood]
I am invincible, unbreakable
Unstoppable, unshakeable
They knock me down, I get up again
I am the champion, you’re gon’ know my name
You can’t hurt me now, I can’t feel the pain
I was made for this, yeah, I was born to win
I am the champion, oh

[Verse 3: Ludacris]
Born champion, Luda
The C is for the courage I possess through the trauma
H is for the hurt, but it’s all for the honor
A is for my attitude working through the patience
Money comes and goes, so the M is for motivation
Gotta stay consistent, the P is for persevere
The I is for integrity, innovative career
The O is optimistic, open and never shut
And the N is necessary ’cause I’m never givin’ up
See, they ask me how I did it, I just did it from the heart
Crushin’ the competition, been doing it from the start
They say that every champion is all about his principles
Carrie
[Chorus: Carrie Underwood]
I am invincible, unbreakable
Unstoppable, unshakeable
They knock me down, I get up again
I am the champion, you’re gon’ know my name
You can’t hurt me now, I can’t feel the pain
I was made for this, yeah, I was born to win
I am the champion

[Outro: Ludacris & Carrie Underwood]
I’m the champion, yeah, surpassed all rivals
It’s all about who wants it the most
I am the champion
Fight for what we believe in
That’s what champions are made of
I am the champion (Yeah, champion)
